You should begin your essay by clearly identifying your chosen moral theories, and explaining the basic concepts/principles of the theories that you have chosen. Be sure to clearly define any key terms, and illustrate with examples where appropriate. (This section should be written on the assumption that your audience is not familiar with moral philosophy. Your writing should be clear and thorough.)
Then you will apply these theories to your chosen ethical issue. This application may take several forms, but in general you should be trying to illustrate what position the two theories would endorse on the issue you have chosen. This part of your discussion should draw on elements of your initial presentation of your chosen moral theories.
Finally, you will issue your own judgments on this debate. Do you believe that one of these theories has arrived at the right conclusion, and for the right reasons, on this issue? Clearly state your position and justify your view with arguments/evidence.
All sources used must be clearly cited. (Citation style/format is up to you.)
Direct quotations must include page number citations.
